Electric muscle car doesn't sell – price drops by DKK 100,000

Dodge is having such a hard time finding buyers for the electric Charger Daytona that the car has dropped in price by almost 100,000 kroner after two months.

There are indications that the electric Dodge Charger Daytona was a bad idea.

Not only is Dodge struggling with cars that break down. After just two months, dealers are marking the car down by almost 100,000 kroner.

This is reported by CarsDirect .

The price drop comes shortly after Dodge announced that the brand's sales in 2024 fell by a whopping 29 percent.

Combined with various bonus programs and the discount scheme, you can currently get a Charger Daytona with the so-called Scat Pack, which gives more horsepower, for $51,000. Or the equivalent of 350,000 Danish kroner.

It's even cheaper if you can just borrow money for the car. Here you can get an additional $3,000 off the price, even though the interest rate is seven percent.

But then there's the fact that the cars break down after only a few kilometers. Some of the cars don't even make it out of the dealership because they break down.

This was reported by several dealers anonymously earlier this year.

Dealers unanimously say that the electric cars have either arrived defective or broken down after a few kilometers of driving.

– The Dodge Charger EV is going to be a disaster for Dodge. I've been told by four dealers that they're dead and can't be moved, says a video on the YouTube channel TK's Garage. Read more about it here .
