From 10 to 80 percent current on the battery in just 10 minutes. Nobody does it faster, says Zeekr about the new battery pack in 007.
It's called 007, of course, but there's not much secret, English agent about the name. Instead, it is a Chinese electric car called Zeekr 007.
On the other hand, the Chinese, who are related to Volvo and Polestar, say that they have created an electric car with the world's fastest charging curve. Charging the battery from 10 to 80 percent current takes just 10.5 minutes.
The Chinese say that it can be done because it is now possible to charge the lithium battery with the so-called 5.5C technology. The Chinese also claim to have thought about the fact that the weather can be a challenge.
The battery pack, which is to be installed in the sedan model 007, can reportedly be charged from 10 to 80 percent current in 30 minutes at temperatures down to minus 10 degrees. Fast enough to provide a range of 500 kilometers in 15 minutes.

According to the Chinese's own range calculation, which deviates from the WLTP standard, which is used here and in the rest of Europe, the new 007 can cover up to 688 kilometers on one and the same charge.
The question then is how far it is in reality. We may get an answer to that very soon. Because Zeekr has promised that the first customers will already have their cars delivered next week.
Speaking of batteries for electric cars, it is not more than three weeks ago that the battery company Samsung SDI was able to show a prototype of an electric car battery that is actually even wilder than the Chinese ones. Read more about it here .
