With a new app, now making its debut in Scandinavia, drivers can earn 10,000 kroner or more by tagging each other for illegal parking.
Parking fees are big business. And now a catch-all idea that made life miserable for English drivers back in 2022 has come to Scandinavia.
The idea is simple. Users can earn thousands of kroner if their tips about others' poor or illegal parking lead to a parking fee.
This is reported by Euronews .
For the first time, the Scoutpark app has come to Sweden. Here, users – or anyone who reports poor parking – can get 25 percent of the amount of the fee as a thank you.
What users have to do is take a picture of the problematic parking. The picture is then sent directly to a parking attendant. And if there is anything to be found, the reporter will be paid 25 percent of the fee.
– It is a so-called gig economy app that makes it possible for anyone over the age of 16 with a Swedish personal identity number to earn money by helping parking attendants find people who do not follow the parking rules in society, says Erik Englund, CEO of Scoutpark, to Euronews.
However, the app does not automatically trigger a parking fee. For this to happen, it requires that the individual parking company cooperates with Scoutpark.
It is not known whether Scoutpark also intends to expand to Denmark. But Boosted is trying to get a comment from the company behind the solution.
