Car importer Semler Gruppen, which is responsible for importing Volkswagen Group models in Denmark, earned almost 1 billion before taxes in 2024.
Semler Group, Denmark's largest automotive group, has today published its financial statements for 2024.
The group writes this in a press release.
The accounts show a record high profit before tax of DKK 962 million. Revenue has increased by 18 percent since 2023 and now stands at DKK 28 billion.
According to the Danish company, the year 2024 has been characterized by change in the automotive industry.
Yet both revenue and the bottom line are increasing. According to the group itself, this is due to an increased market share for both new and used cars and an increased focus on the service department.
– 2024 has been challenging for us, and the industry in general, in a number of areas, but our 3,300 colleagues have stood together and navigated safely through turbulent times in a distinguished manner.
– The combined effort is the basis for the excellent result, where we increase both the top and bottom line through increased market share in new and used cars, as well as a strengthened service market, says Ulrik Drejsig, CEO of the Semler Group.
Throwing one and a half billion into the business
According to management, the Semler Group will allocate one and a half billion kroner for investments in Denmark towards 2030.
This includes ownership of imports, dealers, as well as financing and leasing. There are plans for major investments in electrification and digitalization.
– When we invest one and a half billion kroner in the new strategy, it is because we want to further strengthen our position and be at the helm of an industry that is changing rapidly.
– It simply requires agility and adaptability, and our employees' ability to do this has been fantastic in 2024. This gives me faith in more good years in the future, says Ulrik Drejsig.
By 2024, 53 percent of Semler Gruppen's cars sold were electric cars. In December, the importer chose to provide a 5-year warranty on factory-new electric cars. However, the company will pay for this itself. Read more about it here .
The Danish car importer expects the business to grow into 2025. However, the press release about the financial statements does not state how much.
