BMW owner smashes 5 police cars and 7 officers

A police chase for an older BMW F10 ended in chaos on a motorway in England. Five police cars were destroyed and seven officers were injured.

A fierce police chase for a dark gray BMW F10 ended in a dramatic end in England. The chase ended in a major crash on the A1 motorway. Five police cars were destroyed and seven officers were injured.

The accident happened at 2:27 a.m. The A1 motorway was covered in debris after the collision between the BMW and the five police cars, causing major traffic problems.

The police chase began shortly after 2am. Local police were alerted to a BMW speeding in the Whickham area of Gateshead. It all ended with the horrific crash less than half an hour later.

The damage to police vehicles was extensive. At least two Volvo V60s were among the damaged cars. They are often used by police in the area.

A Vauxhall (Opel, ed.) also suffered significant damage. It appears that the car was rear-ended in the violent car chase.

Damaged police cars and a smashed BMW

A fourth police car was completely destroyed. Photos from the scene show the car missing its tailgate and several doors.

The rescue crew, who quickly arrived at the scene, had to cut into the car to rescue the officers from the wrecked car.

The dark gray BMW, probably an F10 5-series, was also left standing motionless after the collision. A sixth vehicle was so damaged that it was difficult to identify the make and model from photos alone.

Five ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene. A specialist paramedic and people from a hazardous area response team were also present to assist.

Seven officers were briefly hospitalized after the accident. Four of them were discharged later that day after treatment.

Investigation and condition of officers

However, two officers were hospitalized for observation. Their condition required further evaluation. The last officer received treatment for a leg injury.

Police Inspector Michelle Caisley from Northumbria Police has spoken out about the incident, saying she hopes her colleagues make a speedy recovery.

"We wish all officers involved in the collision a speedy recovery," Michelle Caisley wrote in an official statement.

"An investigation is underway to clarify the precise circumstances surrounding the accident," she added.

Police are asking for the public's help in the case. Anyone with information that could help the investigation is strongly encouraged to come forward. Any details could be important.

This incident shows how wrong things can go during a car chase. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that something like this has gone completely wrong. Read more about it here .
