BBC releases old Top Gear episodes for free on YouTube

If you miss Clarkson, May and Hammond, the BBC has good news. The public service channel is now broadcasting Top Gear non-stop on YouTube.

Top Gear is back. As such. The BBC has decided to broadcast old episodes of the car show in a continuous live broadcast on YouTube.

The signal runs around the clock with many Top Gear episodes, which between 2002 and 2015 had Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May as hosts.

The new, 'old' live channel can be found on the "Top Gear Classic YouTube channel", which was originally launched last year to show small pieces of the show's history. But now it's turning into entire programmes.

For example, as this article is being written, the channel is showing Jeremy Clarkson's review of the topless Dodge Viper. It was in season 5, episode 3. That is, an episode that first aired all the way back in November 2004.

And so it just continues in an interchangeable loop that lasts 12 hours at a time. Of course with different sections – it goes without saying.

The channel has been freely available for about two weeks now. And to be honest, we're a little embarrassed that we didn't find out about it before now. But better late than never. Right?

Another thing is that the channel is limited. In the sense that the BBC only shows programs from the Clarkson, May and Hammond era. However, Top Gear is much older than that.

In fact, the program is so old that one of the program's first hosts has already left this earth. Read more about it here .

In an equally tragic way, racing driver Sabine Schmitz, who also appeared as both a guest and host on Top Gear before losing her battle to cancer in 2021, died.
