Audi sells cars on 19" steel rims from the factory

Audi is not too nice to charge outrageous amounts of money for their cars. Not even if these come from the factory on 19" steel rims.

Steel rims are not a thing of the past. At least not if you ask Audi in Ingolstadt. The Germans still have the cheap unloading on the program.

A quick visit to Audi's German website also reveals that it is good enough. The starting point is in several cases that brand new cars have steel wheels on them.

The same applies to drum brakes. Audi does not believe that the electric car Q4 e-tron needs anything else.

That's what Motor1 writes.

Specifically, Audi defends itself with the fact that regeneration of the energy already manages 90 percent of the car's braking, when it is therefore necessary to slow down.

While the Danish Audi importer does not have steel rims on the Q4 program at all, Audi at home in Germany does not hold back at all from the cheapest solutions.

Here, the starting point is steel rims in the size 235/55-19" on the front axle. While the mounting at the rear has grown to 255/50-19".

Having said that, it may actually be less. Also on steel wheels. Both the small Audi A1 and the slightly larger Q2 are delivered as standard on steel wheels. Both Q4, A1 and Q2 are otherwise supplied with fabric seats. So basically in Germany.

It's a bit different here at home. In fact, you can't equip a Q4 e-tron with steel wheels at all. It is initially delivered to Danish customers with 19" alloy wheels.

On the other hand, the price is also only just below the tax limit for electric cars. Audi in Denmark wants DKK 419,000 for the least equipped Q4.
