Association demands higher tax on diesel and petrol cars

Industry association Green Power Denmark is now demanding that the politicians in Christiansborg raise the periodic taxes on all diesel and petrol cars.

Industry association Green Power Denmark is now demanding that another tax be introduced on cars. But it should only affect those who buy new petrol or diesel cars.

That's what Mobility Watch writes.

The industry association, led by the former Liberal Minister Kristian Jensen, is trying to camouflage the requirement as a proposal for next year's Finance Act. On the other hand, the additional tax should force more people to choose an electric car.

That the periodic charges must increase must be added to the increases that are already planned. And which not even vintage cars that cover only a few kilometers a year can avoid. Read more about it here .

– We believe that the politicians should look at raising the hefty tax for fossil cars. It can be a minimum of DKK 500.

– It can be used to make green energy consumption cheaper and encourage Danes to invest in an electric car. It doesn't take that much, but enough to encourage you to choose green, says Kristian Jensen, managing director of Green Power Denmark, to the media.

According to the Folketinget's website, ft.dk, the government usually comes up with a finance bill for the coming year in late August. The upcoming Finance Act – which can be compared to the state's budget – must be adopted before the end of the year at the latest.
