Dennis received a bill of DKK 104,000 for handing over his Tesla

Dennis, who lives in Germany, got a nasty surprise when he handed in his leased Tesla Model 3. It ended up costing him DKK 104,000.

Four years ago, Dennis H. leased a Tesla Model 3 Performance in Germany. In addition to the leasing price, it has now cost him DKK 104,000.

The amount is the penalty for handing over a car with scratched rims and damage to a ceiling. In addition, the leasing company believes that the battery must be replaced.

Therefore, the extra bill has skyrocketed. Efharer writes that.

Allegedly, Dennis H. made the mistake of getting the roof of the car wrong, although there are actually precise ways to roof a Tesla. At least according to the factory's regulations.

Tesla itself states the following about the roof of the Model 3:

  1. Place Model 3 in the middle of the ceiling bars.
  2. Place the ceiling arm blocks under the indicated ceiling points of the body in the locations shown
  3. Adjust the height and position of the ceiling arm blocks to ensure they are positioned correctly.
  4. Get help to raise the lift to the desired height and check that the blocks of the ceiling arm are positioned correctly.
  5. Activate all safety locks on the lift. Follow the lift manufacturer's instructions.

But Tesla owners may find it difficult to detect the damage to their cars at all. Efharer writes that Dennis' case is not unique. Similar cases have appeared for

In 2021, for example, Tesla had to pay the bill itself when it lost a legal dispute about damage to a car. The Model 3, which has since been discovered to have damage – especially around the ceiling, was produced in the USA in the period 2020 to 2021.

Incidentally, Dennis H. is not the only Tesla owner who is left with a huge bill. Blue. been an English couple surprised that their car could not withstand water. Read more about that case here .
