In 15 years, public transport has become more expensive than the car

On Sunday last week, the ticket price rose again in public transport. Relatively speaking, this has made private motoring cheaper over the past 15 years.

On Sunday last week, a new price increase came into effect in Denmark. It means that you have to have more money out of your pocket to travel with public transport.

On average, the price has risen by 10.3 percent. And it is actually more than the price trend has made it more expensive to drive in your own car.

This is written by DR .

The media refers to a report from Denmark Statestik, which shows that over the past 15 years it has become 35.6 times more expensive to travel with public transport. And that's for the new price increases.

In the same period, however, it has 'only' become 23 percent more expensive to sit behind the wheel of a car, when expenses for the purchase of the car, repairs, fuel and service as well as insurance are taken into account.

To Ekstra Bladet, Transport Minister Thomas Danielsen (V) says that public transport must be bad, because it will be good.

The minister emphasizes that there are investments in public transport in particular on the way. It just doesn't change the fact that right now and here it has become significantly more expensive to take the bus.
