Will settle for DKK 37 million – called a Chinese car an Italian one

DR Automobiles, which already disguises Chinese cars as something from Italy, has got a huge stall for doing it again.

The Italian competition authorities have struck down the car brand DR Automobiles because cars from the brand have been disguised as something they are not. Namely from Italy.

DR Automobiles is well enough founded in Italy. But the brand sources cars from China, where these are also developed. And so you must not claim that they are built in Italy.

Therefore, the brand must now cough up 5.1 million euros or the equivalent of 37 million in stalls. According to the Italian authorities, DR Automobiles already started misleading motorists in the country back in 2021.

Reuters writes that.

So the Boden does not appear out of thin air. Behind it is also a 71-page long report, which explains in detail how the car brand has deceived its customers.

Among other things, the authorities write that DR Automobiles has claimed that they have been developing cars in Italy since 2006. But that has nothing to do with it. All the brand's models are based on already existing Chinese cars.

However, the fact that the cars come directly from China is not the 'Italian brand's' only problem. The authorities also do not believe that DR Automobiles has sufficient access to spare parts to be able to maintain a minimum level of service to its customers.

As early as last October, it emerged that the authorities in Italy were keeping a close eye on the mysterious car brand. Read more about it here .

However, cheating in the world of cars can also look different. For example, fraudsters are currently trying to trick Danes into electric cars. Read more about it here .
