Huge Danish car importer has lost faith in electric cars

KW Bruun, who among other things imports Peugeot to Denmark, believes that the demand for electric cars has reached its peak. Synthetic petrol, on the other hand, will be a hit, it says.

People are fed up with electric cars.

At least if you ask the owner and chairman of the board of the Danish car importer KW Bruun, Anders Bruun.

That's what Motor magazine writes.

– If I were a car customer today and had nothing to do with KW Bruun, I would refrain from buying a battery car.

– It is far too unstable and unsafe what is going to happen to it. If I absolutely had to have a battery car, I would lease it instead of buying it, says Anders Bruun.

Instead, Anders Bruun points to synthetic fuels as part of the solution in the future. Something he believes will settle on a large part of the market.

Therefore, motorists should also stick to their cars with internal combustion engines, it says. On the other hand, KW Bruun has also brought a number of especially Chinese electric car brands to the country.

And Chinese electric cars have so far not really said anything to Danish drivers. In fact, it is only Volvo that the Danes really have an appetite for when the cars come from China. It reveals the latest sales figures, which De Danske Bilimportorer publishes from month to month, on a quarterly and annual basis.

The second best-selling brand, BYD, which KW Bruun imports, has sold 899 cars here at home between January 1 and May 31 this year. Many of them for home care. Read more about it here .

However, KW Bruun's decision when it comes to electric cars does not mean that the car importer stops selling the car type in Denmark.

But they align themselves with the Stellantis group, which also has a wait-and-see attitude towards the electric car. In fact, the world's fourth largest car group is ready to change its mind about electric cars. Read more about it here .

Conversely, several organizations are shooting hard for the chairman of the board of KW Bruun. Mixed, Dansk E-mobility to the media Energiwatch calls the statement 'some nonsense'.
