Special photo van traps 117 motorists on the same road

On Tuesday, there was an inquiry from a citizen that a photo van could once again be welcome in the treasury. This time on a residential street in Vejen.

South and Sonderjylland Police responded to an inquiry from a citizen via "order an officer" on politi.dk, which led to their presence on Asbovej in Vejen Municipality with an ATK vehicle.

The citizen had previously pointed out that there was too much speed in the area, and this concern was confirmed by the police.

On Tuesday 15 May, the ATK van was parked on Asbovej for 5 hours and 20 minutes. During this period, the police registered 900 motor vehicles, of which 117 were traveling faster than the permitted 60 km/h. Among these short 12 so strong that they are now in addition to the stall for a cut in the choir card.

In the past, South and Sonderjylland Police have also received inquiries about high speed on Asbovej.

During corresponding checks in November and December 2023, 115 and 122 speed violations were measured respectively. The picture has therefore not changed significantly since the last time.

– We greatly appreciate the citizens' inquiries in all cases – even when it concerns speeding. We take it seriously," says Police Commissioner Dennis André Holst, head of Emergency Station Vejen, in a press release .

Among the 117 speeding violations, 10 were from trucks, two of which were more than 30 percent too fast. Something that also triggers a cut in the choir card for the leaders.

– We can ascertain that there is still a short too fast on the stretch. I would encourage you to ease off the accelerator – even when we are not there with the ATK van.

– It can have major consequences when the card is too strong. In the past five years, 121 people have been killed in accidents in South and Sonderjylland Police District. Out of the 121 traffic fatalities, 20 people have been killed in accidents in Vejen Municipality," says Police Commissioner Dennis André Holst.
