Brand new BMW is illegal on all roads in Denmark

It will probably never be a wife. But now Manhart has at least made sure that it will be more than difficult to hang on to the BMW M2 out of the traffic lights.

Much has been said and written about the latest bottling of the BMW M2. But praise for the design is far between.

Still, Manhart is now making an attempt to at least straighten things out a bit both visually and mechanically.

The new MH2 GTR II is an extreme interpretation of the already hardcore MH2 560, which Manhart revealed back in February.

Should we take the paint off first, because someone is probably already looking for it on Google. It's called OTT magenta, says the German tuner.

Then there are the wheels, which in German BMW fashion are a bit larger at the rear than on the front axle. That is, 21×11.5 at the back seasoned with 20×10.5 at the front. The wheels are actually from German Raffa Wheels and 'glow' the name RFS-02.

The undercarriage from KW is set up for track lir, but it is in the engine that the real fun happens. The engine is still BMW's 3-liter straight-six called the S58.

The same engine found in the BMW M3 and M4 as well as a number of Alpina models (while it lasts – read more about it here).

However, there is far more muscle in the S58 than BMW has yet dared to conjure up in it. In the upcoming M4 CSL, for example, the engine produces 'only' 560 horsepower.

In the obviously smaller MH2 GTR II, that figure is increased to a whopping 715 horsepower in the company of 850 newton meters.

Manhart says it 'only' required a reprogramming of the engine management and a new exhaust to get there. However, there is just one 'little bit', but the new MH2 GTR II owner should take note.

The whole package, i.e. when the exhaust system removes both the catalysts and the particle filter, is not TÜV approved. In other words, this means that the MH2 GTR II in its most extreme form must not drive around on the tarmac. At least not the public sector in the entire EU.
