Reviled Ford may have a fatal problem in Denmark

The Danish Ford importer himself knows of 29 cases where the brakes on Danish-registered Mach-E models have failed. Abroad, people apparently do not know about the problem.

On various social media you can read about Danish Ford owners who complain that the brakes in their Mach-E are failing.

According to FDM, the Danish Ford importer knows of 29 cases of brake failure in the model in question.

But also at FDM you hear from Ford owners who suddenly drive around 'without' brakes. This is what the interest organization writes on its website.

The newspaper BT has spoken to two Mach-E owners who have experienced brake failure. And on the internet there are plenty of similar experiences to take from.

Ford owner Kim Ole Nygaard tells FDM that his car did not react no matter how hard he stepped on the brakes. But there are preliminary indications that the problem is isolated to Danish cars.

In any case, the problem cannot be recognized in FDM's sister organisations. Nor has the Swedish Transport Agency noticed the problem.

But it is undoubtedly something that Danish Mustang Mach-E owners experience. And that's just one of the electric car's problems.

Back in January 2022, several Mustang Mach-E owners complained that the winter cold eats away at battery range. Later investigations have also confirmed that the electric Ford performs poorly in cold weather.

In fact, range in the Mustang Mach-E is so bad when it's cold that in December 2022 it was among the absolute worst cars in a winter range test. Read more about it here .

However, the lack of brakes is undoubtedly much worse than a battery that quickly gives up. About the problem, the Ford importer will not say much other than that they are in the process of investigating the matter.
