Tesla can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in one second, says Rimac

Rimac believes it is possible for Tesla to get to where the new Roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than one second. But…, says founder Mate Rimac.

It is possible, it is true when Elon Musk writes on his social media "X" that the new Tesla Roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h "in less than one second".

That's what the founder of the supercar manufacturer Rimac, Mate Rimac, says now. The Croatian car brand itself says that similar accelerations have been achieved via a simulator.

But there is an overriding problem, writes Mate Rimac on his Facebook profile. For one is simulations. Something else is reality.

In a computer, you can easily have up to 30,000 newton meters in a car, which Rimac believes will be required to accelerate so quickly. But it's a completely different matter on the roads of reality.

In addition, Rimac points out that in order to be able to drive at such speeds, cars must be 'super light'. Something you can't exactly say about electric cars in general.

Even Rimac's own Nevera, which goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.81 seconds, weighs well. Yes, in fact it has a clear weight of a whopping 2,300 kilos.

– Jet engines are the way forward in this regard. But there are also a lot of disadvantages associated with that, says Mate Rimac.

By the way, Mate Rimac became boss of all of Bugatti back in 2021. And although he is mostly known for building electric cars, the Croatian fought for Bugatti to keep the wild and violent combustion engines. Read more about it here .
