Ford withholds electric cars with secret problem

Ford refuses to say why. But the brand is currently withholding a number of electric cars. There are apparently problems with the quality.

Ford won't say why. But since February 9, the brand has withheld all copies of the F-150 Lightning electric car.

However, several media – including Carscoops – write that Ford has found problems with the quality of the cars. And that the brand is therefore holding the cars back.

The news of the detentions comes just one month after the cars began arriving at American Ford dealers in early January.

Despite the detentions, which Ford will not say anything about, the assembly lines continue. But none of the cars make it any further. Neither to the dealers nor to the customers.

However, it is not just electric cars that Ford is holding back. According to Automotive News, the brand has kept several thousand copies of the F-150 pickup truck back in Detroit since last December.

Nor has Ford said anything about these cars. It is also not clear whether it is common practice for the brand to hold on to brand new cars for months.

Conversely, Ford is not the only one having problems on the assembly lines at the moment. One of the competitors does not expect to be able to sell more cars this year. Read more about it here .
