Danes affected – car giant recalls 2 million cars

Honda is now recalling over 2 million cars that may have serious steering gear defects. The recall is spread across 3 models.

Japanese automaker Honda is recalling 2.3 million cars with serious steering gear defects. The recall is global and not isolated to individual markets, according to the automaker.

This concerns Honda Civic, CR-V and ZR-V manufactured between 2021 and 2024.

According to Honda, 'too little grease' may have been used on the assembly line to lubricate a single part used in the steering gear. But it is enough that the cars may not steer correctly.

In some cases, Honda says, it may be necessary to replace the entire steering gear because someone made a mistake when the cars were assembled.

Honda in Denmark informs Boosted that it has recalled 250 cars in Denmark. However, the importer also writes that some of these may have been parallel imported.

Some of the cars may have already been checked at a workshop, the importer says.

On the other side of the Sound, however, Honda Sweden announces that it has recalled 704 cars that may be affected by the defect.

We Car Owners writes.

This is the second time in a relatively short period of time that Honda has recalled more than 1 million cars. The last time it happened, the Japanese were even afraid to run for spare parts. Read more about it here .

If cars need to be recalled in Denmark, Honda is not allowed to contact the owners directly. Instead, this must be done through the Danish Motor Register.
