Gasoline prices in Sweden have dropped significantly. In several places, drivers can now fill up on 95-octane gasoline for less than 15 Swedish kronor per liter.
This is the first time in over four years that the price is this low. Diesel prices are also on the way down. Stations like Preem and Ingo are among the cheapest.
The reason for the lower prices is a sharp drop in oil prices. On Friday, the price of oil reached its lowest level since 2021. This directly affects fuel prices at the stands.
A weaker US dollar also plays a role. A lower dollar exchange rate typically makes oil cheaper on the world market. This affects prices for consumers.
The same goes for an election pledge from the Swedish government. The election pledge means that Sweden will operate with the absolute lowest tax limit that the EU will ever allow, on both gasoline and diesel.
The picture is not much different in Norway, where the price per liter is also falling, according to Motor.no .
The global trade conflict is also pushing prices down. Specifically, the conflict between the United States and China is mentioned. The United States has imposed tariffs on several countries.

Some would say almost free.
Ingo charges 14.80 Swedish kronor per liter for gasoline. That's about 9.62 Danish kronor. At St1 in the city of Borås, gasoline costs 15.23 Swedish kronor per liter, equivalent to about 9.90 Danish kronor.
The cheapest diesel is also found at Preem in Helsingborg. Here, a liter of diesel cost 15.39 Swedish kronor on Monday morning. That's about 10 Danish kronor.
Prices are typically higher at staffed gas stations. On Monday morning, 95-octane gasoline cost 15.94 Swedish kronor (approximately 10.36 Danish kronor). Diesel cost 16.29 Swedish kronor (approximately 10.59 Danish kronor).
Oil price and global economy affect the price
The current price level is the lowest in over four years. Many Swedish drivers are therefore experiencing a noticeable saving at the pump. Danes on a trip to Sweden can also benefit from the lower prices.
