Female race choir member fired after one race

Officially, it is stated that German Sophia Floersch and HMD Motorsports have agreed to terminate the contract. But it happens after just one race.

Sophia Floersch has lost her seat in the Indy NXT series after just one race.

Her contract with the HMD Motorsports team has been "mutually terminated." This means that her debut season in the American racing series is over, before it really got started.

Sophia Floersch was part of a large setup at HMD, but the collaboration is now ending.

The 24-year-old German choir qualified 17th and finished 12th in his debut in early March on the street circuit in St. Petersburg.

At HMD Motorsports, Sophia Floersch was part of a comprehensive effort with as many as nine cars entered in the series.

Sophia Floersch was a member of the Alpine Academy in 2023 and 2024. At the end of last year, she announced that she would be moving up from Formula 3 after four years in that category, which resulted in a single top-10 finish.

The move involved moving his career to the United States to compete in Indy Nxt. That plan has now been changed after just one race.

– Moving forward into 2025, HMD Motorsports and Sophia Floersch have mutually agreed to part ways for the remainder of the Indy NXT season.

– HMD wishes Sophia all the best for the future, the team writes in a statement .

– We are now actively considering what options there are for car no. 24 for the remaining 13 races and upcoming test days.

Floersch's Indy exit means that the team must now find a replacement for car number 24 before the second round of the season, which will be held at Barber Motorsports Park on May 2-4.

Sophia Floersch has not yet commented on the end of her Indy NXT career, and it is unknown what her next step will be in terms of her career.

Although Sophia Floersch is now out of the series, there is still a female driver in the championship. HMD Motorsports also has Hailie Deegan in their driver line-up.

The former NASCAR choirboy finished 14th in St. Petersburg in what was only her third lob in a class.
