Car wash forced to close to make room for charging stations

Blair Isufi, who has run a car wash for 12 years, has been forced to close his car wash business because charging stations are now being built on the site.

All power to electric cars.

That's how Blair Isufi must be feeling right now. At least he's been forced to close the car wash he's been running for the past 12 years.

And the plot? A new charging park for electric cars is to be established on the site. So now Blair Isufi has 30 days to vacate the plot in Canterbury, England.

This is what The Sun writes.

Blair Isufi and the other employees have been washing cars by hand at the site for the past 12 years, and he feels the termination notice from the owners of the land is like 'having a rope put around your neck'.

Blair Isufi himself has no problem with the charging stations as such. In fact, he believes there is plenty of room for both charging stations and a car wash. But the landowner doesn't want to hear about that.

So now the entire area needs to be plastered with charging cables and stands.

The family behind the car wash claims that with just 30 days' notice of closure, they have no way of even preparing for what will happen to the business.

As it is now, the only option is to close the whole thing and say goodbye to the regular customers and their cars.

The family claims that the property company that owns the land has not wanted to enter into a dialogue and that a proposal for six months' notice has been flatly rejected.
