Turned around on the highway – then the police took the car

A 32-year-old man probably deeply regretted making a U-turn on the Holbæk motorway one Saturday evening.

"I've made a fool of myself on the highway!"

This is what a 32-year-old man from Morkov said when the police stopped him on the highway south one Saturday evening.

Shortly before, the man had made a very illegal U-turn on the Holbæk Motorway after having a card in the wrong direction.

The police subsequently charged the man with a number of offenses, including reckless driving, driving without a license, and possession of illegal drugs.

The man, who was stopped by police after leaving the highway, initially tried to hide his true identity by giving the name and social security number of a friend.

The police took much more than the car, which doesn't even belong to the man.

It cost him another charge of false accusation, the Central and West Zealand Police said in a Facebook post .

When the man was stopped, the police also believed that he smelled of alcohol. He also acted 'uneasy'. Subsequently, the police confirmed that the driver was under the influence of both alcohol and drugs.

A search of the car, which did not belong to the man himself, but to a female acquaintance, led to the discovery of, among other things, 1.71 grams of cocaine.

The discovery of 17 empty police bags and messages on the man's cell phone indicate that he may have cards around to sell drugs.

Since the man's driving falls under the category of reckless driving, the police have seized the car. The car owner now risks losing the vehicle entirely in a confiscation.

Furthermore, an illegal knife was found on the man, resulting in a charge of violating the knife law.

The 32-year-old man has been arrested, and a blood sample has been taken to determine how under the influence he actually was when he was stopped.

The case will then be presented to the court, where a decision will be made on the various charges, including whether to seek to have the female acquaintance's car confiscated.
