10,000 drivers put the order system down when Toyota opened the order book for the new electric car bZ3X. However, the system couldn't handle it – so it crashed.
There has been significant demand for the new Toyota bZ3X. Around 10,000 drivers have placed orders for the recently launched model.
Sales are only taking place in the Chinese market, and the cars have not yet hit the roads. But the 10,000 orders were more than Toyota's online order book could handle.
It is in collaboration with Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) that Toyota is building the electric car bZ3X for the Chinese market.
The interest in bZ3X has resulted in a large number of orders within such a short period of time that, according to Carscoops , it all went down to a technical error.
The model, an electric SUV, is priced at around 104,000 kroner (109,800 yuan). It is designed to compete in the same segment as the RAV4. The Toyota bZ3X is part of a strategy that means Toyota, like so many others, is throwing money at the Chinese market for electric cars.

The new electric car is built with battery packs from 50 to 68 kWh. It has a claimed range of up to 610 kilometers according to the Chinese test cycle.
All versions of the car are equipped with an electric motor that produces either 204 or 224 horsepower – and the only option for traction is on the front wheels.
The interior of the bZ3X consists of a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster and a Yamaha sound system with 11 speakers.
In addition, the car is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems that use cameras, radar and LiDAR technology from Nvidia.
When the bZ3X is compared to other Toyota models on the Chinese market, the car is at the absolute cheapest end.
For example, the Toyota Highlander, also built by GAC, starts at DKK 271,000, and a Camry starts at DKK 163,000. At this time, Toyota has no plans to bring the bZ3X to Europe.
