The new Dacia Duster is now hitting the Danish market with a completely new platform and improved technology. Prices start at 309,990 kroner, but what do you really get for your money?
The Dacia Duster has long been a popular SUV in Europe, with more than 2.5 million units sold since its launch in 2010.
After several minor updates, a completely new generation is now coming, introducing both modern technology and an updated design.
The model is built on a new platform and has received a number of upgrades that make it more comfortable and stable on the road.
The new Duster has scrapped its previous platform and is now based on the CMF-B platform, also known from the Renault Captur and Dacia Jogger. This means better use of space, improved comfort and significantly less noise in the cabin.
The increased stiffness reduces the car's roll by 21%, providing a more stable driving experience. In addition, tire noise is lowered by 2 dB, providing a quieter cabin while driving.
Many new updates for Dacia Duster in 2025
Despite the many upgrades, the Duster has retained its familiar dimensions. It still measures 4.34 meters in length, but has become wider and lower.
The cabin has gained 30 mm of extra legroom both front and rear, while the luggage compartment now holds 517 liters – an increase of 15%.
Inside, the Duster has a ceiling with a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the Extreme model. The cabin also has a more robust finish, with inspiration from the car's Y-shaped headlights visible in the door panels.
A new detail is the option of washable microfiber covers on the seats, which can be an advantage for those who use the car for more off-road driving.
The car has also been given a number of environmentally friendly solutions. The protective plates and several other visible elements are made from colored recycled materials.
This means that scratches will not be evident as the material is not varnished. In addition, all chrome has been cut from the design, and leather is no longer part of the interior.
Advanced safety systems in Dacia Duster
The new Duster has been significantly upgraded in terms of safety equipment. Among the new features is the automatic emergency braking system that detects pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists.
Additionally, cruise control, traffic sign recognition, speed limit warning, lane departure warning and lane keep assist are now standard. Both the Expression and Extreme models also feature automatic headlight dimming.
In Denmark, the new Duster is available with a single engine variant – a 1.6-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine with 140 hp and automatic transmission. Fuel economy is stated at 20 km/l (WLTP) with CO2 emissions of 113 g/km.
On the other hand, it will not be possible to get the model with diesel or four-wheel drive.
As always, Dacia is known for delivering a lot of car for the money, and the new Duster is no exception. All models come with a 3-year factory warranty or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
