Danish car manufacturer goes bankrupt with a loss of millions

In 2023 alone, the otherwise award-winning car dealership, which is now bankrupt, will be short of DKK 2.3 million. But the employees have been saved.

Autohuset Fyn has gone bankrupt with a deficit of several million kroner and a significant amount of unsold cars.

After the bankruptcy petition was filed, the trustee and mortgagees have worked to find a solution for the employees.

Lawyer Martin Breum Sonder, trustee in the bankruptcy case, states that the employees were suspended, which means they were sent home while the possibilities of continuing the healthy parts of the business were investigated.

This is what Fyens Stiftstidende writes.

Together with the mortgagees, the trustee initiated a process to investigate whether there were parts of the company that could be transferred.

An intense process led to the transfer of the company's assets, which included cars and operating assets, two days later.

The employees were also transferred to a new company, securing their jobs.

The company was established in 2007 when the couple Mark Miari and Ann Kolle Miari purchased a property with a car paint shop, from which they opened Autohuset Fyn five years later.

At one point, the company had 23 employees and four departments. Fyens Stiftstidende reports that Mark Miari has established the company Autohuset Fyn Nyborgvej ApS.

Autohuset Fyn has previously received awards for their speed in business. The bankruptcy petition came as a result of financial challenges, but the trustee has worked to minimize the negative consequences of the bankruptcy.

There were many assets in the company that needed to be handled. The situation of the employees was a priority in the bankruptcy proceedings.

– I had the employees suspended, which means they were sent home until I found out what was going to happen, lawyer Martin Breum Sonder tells the newspaper.

The transfer of assets and employees was completed in a short time.

The bankruptcy has resulted in changes in the ownership and operation of the company. The new company, Autohuset Fyn Nyborgvej ApS, will take over parts of the previous company's activities.

Further details about the financial reasons for the bankruptcy have not yet been made public.
