New Volvo ES90 charges 300 km in 10 minutes – and drives 700 km

Volvo's new electric car will feature 800-volt technology, ensuring faster charging and longer range. The ES90 will be one of the fastest-charging electric cars on the market.

Volvo has presented a new electric model that sets new standards for range and charging.

The upcoming ES90 will have an 800-volt system that will allow it to charge 300 km in just 10 minutes.

When the battery is fully charged, the car can travel up to 700 km according to the WLTP standard.

The new technology makes charging faster and more efficient. At the same time, heat loss is reduced, resulting in better performance and longer battery life.

Volvo says the ES90 can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes using a 350 kW fast charger. The system has been developed with a combination of new software and improved battery cells.

In addition to fast charging, Volvo has also worked to make the car more efficient. Engines and other components are lighter, which reduces weight and increases both acceleration and range.

The Volvo ES90 is built on the same platform as the EX90, but comes with a number of improvements that should make it even more attractive to electric car buyers.

Safety is also a focus. The ES90 will be equipped with lidar, radar, cameras and ultrasonic sensors to improve the car's driver assistance and safety systems.

Volvo thus continues its tradition of prioritizing safety in all its models.

The environmental impact of production has also been reduced.

According to Volvo, a large part of the car's aluminum and steel consists of recycled materials.

The interior also contains sustainable solutions such as FSC-certified wood and bio-based materials.

Volvo will officially unveil the ES90 on March 5th, where more details about models and prices will be presented.
