FDM sounds the alarm again: "It is illegal"

FDM is once again hunting for municipalities that use paid parking as an excuse to get more money in the coffers. Now it's crazy in Furso municipality, it says.

FDM is once again after a municipality that breaks the law in pursuit of motorists' money. This time it is the government of Fureso municipality that is at odds with the law,

At least if you ask FDM.

It is clearly illegal for the municipality to ask a private parking company to chase drivers on municipal land, the interest group believes.

This is reported by Zealand News .

Specifically, the city government will appoint a private company to hunt down illegal parking on Farum Bytorv. On this basis, the private company will also be able to derive parking fees.

But this is directly contrary to the law, FDM believes. Conversely, the municipality flatly denies that they are moving on the wrong side of the law by allying with private companies to rip drivers off for money.

Instead, the municipality says that it has 'already consulted with a lawyer to ensure that everything is done according to the book'.

That being said, FDM has already cracked down on several municipalities that illegally take money from drivers to close financial gaps in the municipal coffers. Read more about it here .
