England is doing away with an absurd parking rule that gave parking companies the right to charge a fee as soon as a car arrived at the parking lot.
Until now, the English have feared the rule, which colloquially issued a 'five minute fine' of 100 British pounds, equivalent to 900 kroner.
The rule meant that parking companies could issue a fee as soon as a car arrived at a parking lot. But that's over now.

The parking companies used to make extensive use of this rule. However, the new rules give drivers the option of not having to pay immediately.
According to the authorities that administer the UK's parking regulations, the new guidelines ensure that drivers are given a 'fair chance' to pay for parking. Previously, parking charges were reduced even if there were problems with the payment system.
Among other things, because many of the private parking companies in England monitor the actions of drivers with the so-called ANPG cameras. That is, license plate recognition. But now these cameras are going to take a break. That's very specific.
According to the BBC, one of the worst examples of the five-minute rule can be found in the case of Rosey Hudson, a woman who was taken to court for refusing to pay taxes totaling 1,906 pounds ($2,100).
The parking company otherwise believed that she had to pay money. However, in court the woman was able to prove that her phone, which was used to pay, had had a poor signal. And so the parking company ended up losing the entire claim.
