Jason Watt becomes Formula 1 commentator – debut March 16

The former racing coach joins Viaplay's Formula 1 team and makes his debut as an expert and commentator at the Australian Grand Prix.

When the Formula 1 season begins, there will be a new voice in the commentary box. Jason Watt, former racing commentator and long-time motorsport expert, will become a regular part of Viaplay's Formula 1 coverage.

He joins as an expert and commentator, which means that viewers can now experience his analyses during the Grand Prix weekends.

Together with Peter Palshoj and Nicolas Kiesa, he will ensure that viewers receive a thorough and engaging presentation of the premier class of motorsport.

Viaplay has developed solid coverage of Formula 1 over the years, and with Jason Watt on the team, the expertise is further strengthened.

Jason Watt already has experience with Formula 1 coverage, including through the program "Formel 1-Timen" and appearances on Viaplay Sport News.

Now he is taking it a step further and becoming a regular part of the coverage, where he will analyze the races, share his knowledge and give viewers insight into strategies and technical details.

He will debut in his new role on March 16th, when the season begins with the Australian Grand Prix. A season that promises to be intense with close battles on the track and new technical challenges for the teams.

Viaplay's Head of Sports, Benjamin Munk Lund, looks forward to working with Jason Watt. He highlights Watt's ability to explain complex details in an understandable way that both experienced fans and new viewers can benefit from.

Interest in Formula 1 in Denmark has been increasing in recent years, not least thanks to Kevin Magnussen's participation.

With Jason Watt on the expert team, viewers can look forward to analysis that is not only about the big teams, but also the smaller details that can decide a race.

The Australian Grand Prix will be the first opportunity to hear him in action. Before that, however, there will be a test drive in Bahrain from February 26th to 28th.

Here, the teams will have the opportunity to fine-tune the cars, while fans will get a first impression of what the season's balance of power might look like.

In addition to Formula 1, Viaplay offers a wide selection of motorsport series. Viewers can follow Formula 2, Formula 3, IndyCar, MotoGP and Nascar.

Formula 2 in particular is interesting this year, as several young talents are predicted to have a future in Formula 1.

The upcoming season looks set to be one of the most competitive in recent times. With new rules and an expected close battle between the teams, excitement is set to ensue from the first lap.

Jason Watt will give his opinion from the commentary box on how the strategies can develop and which cores may surprise.
