15-year-old boy charged with reckless driving in a very small car

A 15-year-old boy is charged with reckless driving after having a speed limit of over 150 kilometers per hour in a densely built-up area in Varde on Monday evening.

A very young driver – just a 15-year-old boy – was arrested in Varde on Monday evening around 11.50pm. He is also charged with willful endangerment.

The police tried to stop the car, but the driver avoided the patrol car and instead headed towards different towns.

According to the police, the car chase took approximately 20 minutes, with the chase taking place at varying speeds through small towns. However, the patrol car had to stop the car chase at one point, as the situation became too dangerous due to the high speeds in the densely built-up areas.

The emergency traffic, which the police describe as a delay, took place primarily in the area around Ølgod, Tistrup and Krusbjerg. Warden Richard Borring from South and Sonderjylland Police explains, according to TV SYD, that it became necessary to interrupt the hunt as the risk of accidents became too great.

The car that the 15-year-old was riding in was a small passenger car that belongs to the boy's family. After the arrest, the car was seized by the police.

In addition, the 15-year-old had a passenger of the same age in the car, who, however, did not actively participate in the madness. The police state that fortunately no one was injured during the incident.

After the arrest, the 15-year-old was released on Tuesday morning, but the case has not yet been concluded. The boy must be interrogated with the guardian and social authorities present before the case is presented to the court.
