Got Kevin Magnussen fired – now he sets a record

Oliver Bearman is the direct reason why Kevin Magnussen is leaving Haas. After Sunday's lob in Azerbaijan, he has also set a record in Formula 1.

Kevin Magnussen is the first in Formula 1 history to receive a ban under the current rules. Sondag set his relief record.

It happened when the just 18-year-old Briton Oliver Bearman was reduced to a single point in tenth place. And when you look at his official title, it's impressive.

Bearman is nothing more than a backup choir. Still – and perhaps in spite of that – he is now the only reserve in the entire history of Formula 1 to score points for two different teams, even in the same season.

– I don't know if it's good or bad, it's a strange record, Oliver Bearman said of the performance according to F1 TV after the race.

The next round on the Formula 1 calendar is the city round in Singapore. Here, Kevin Magnussen will probably be back in the Haas racer. At least he has served his sentence and can start over.

The question then is how far the Dane can reach. The possibilities of continuing in Formula 1 look worse and worse. At the same time, there is no obvious other Dane on his way into Formula 1.

Thus, the last Dane can ever have a card in Formula 1 when the season ends with the Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi on Sunday 8 December.
