31 percent of Danes will never buy a Tesla

Just a few months ago, 8 percent of Danes said they would not buy a Tesla, that number has now grown to 31.8 percent.

There is much evidence that Tesla's reputation in Denmark is in more than free fall.

A new poll conducted by Voxmeter shows that 31.8 percent of Danes 'could never dream of buying a Tesla'.

Back in December 2024, just 8 percent of Danes said the same. According to the Danish research institute, Tesla has gone from being 'beloved to facing a stiff headwind'.

– I've never seen anything like it. Neither in the automotive industry nor in any other product category in my 26 years in the industry.

– It is unique, says Christian Stjer, director of Voxmeter.

If you look at the survey, it's also a long way down to second place on the list. According to 18.2 percent of Danes who already know the brand, it's a no-no for Dacia.

Even fewer – namely 7.3 percent – can see themselves in an Alfa Romeo, while Volvo's reputation is clearly doing best.

Just 2.3 percent of Danes responded in week 13 of 2025 that they could never dream of buying a car from the Swedish-Chinese brand.

Back at Tesla, the brand has only moved one way on Voxmeter's list in recent years. Namely upwards. That is, understood in the sense that more and more Danes are saying no, thank you.

Among Danes who are familiar with the brand in week 26 of 2021, 6.9 percent said they could never dream of owning a Tesla. That number has now multiplied.
