16-year-old boy stopped in tractor at 130 km/h

In Sweden, the so-called A-tractors, which are highly limited passenger cars, are more widespread than ever before. Now a 16-year-old has stopped at 130 km/h.

A so-called A-tractor, which according to the rules can only go 30 km/h, was recently stopped on a motorway in Sweden. The episode took place in Värmland, where the police stopped the choir train after a car chase that reached speeds of up to 130 km/h.

The A-tractor was speeded by a 16-year-old boy who refused to stop when the police tried to get him to stop.

A tractors, formerly known as EPA tractors, are popular among young people in Sweden. The corvettes are designed to be modified cars that can only be cored at low speed, making them legal to be driven by teenagers with a special corvette card.

Although they are technically not allowed to go faster than 30 km/h, it is not uncommon for some of them to be illegally modified so that they can go much faster.

The police observed the A-tractor on the E45 near Säffle and noted that it was traveling significantly faster than the permitted speed.

The attempt to stop the convoy resulted in a long car chase, with the speed at one point reaching 130 km/h. The chase only ended outside Veta, where the police managed to get the boy to stop the 'tractor'. According to local media NWT, the police will now investigate the car more closely.

Cases like this have created debate in Sweden about both the safety and the legislation surrounding A-tractors.

Several times before, teenagers have been stopped in A-tractors that can go well over 100 km/h. Even so, the EU will allow the young to sing faster. But it has also created quite a debate in Sweden. Read more about it here .

Sweden has also changed the rules for the special cars on its own. In fact, the requirements have been greatly relaxed. This means that nowadays it is far from just old Volvos that are rebuilt for the very young. Several 16-year-olds have been seen driving around in everything from Bentley models to Tesla Model 3s.
