Tesla took 54,000 kroner to get the car ready for viewing

Norwegian car owners – like drivers here at home – must have their cars inspected every two years. For Geir Bratbak, it could have cost DKK 54,000.

Had Geir Bratbak not been awake, the legally required periodic inspection of his Tesla Model X could have cost him DKK 50,000.

That is, Norwegian kroner. But since it corresponds to just under 36,000 Danish kroner, there is no doubt that it could have been a very expensive round.

It was even Tesla himself who wanted to rip off Geir Bratbak for that much money. This is what the car owner tells Norwegian TV2 .

– At Tesla they said that there were several errors that had to be corrected. I was given a price of DKK 54,000 to have the work done and the car inspected, says Geir Bratbak.

The Tesla owner tells Norwegian TV2 that he immediately asked Tesla for a more realistic price. However, Tesla would only agree to a bill of DKK 50,000.

– I still thought it was far too expensive. Then I contacted Mekonomen in Drobak. They must have DKK 11,600. So 80 percent less, says Geir Bratbak.

The Tesla owner ended up accepting it. Among other things, because the other workshop plucked a lot of unnecessary parts from Tesla's own offer.

In fact, half the bill ended up being timelon alone. The most expensive part? A support arm for 2,800 Norwegian kroner. 1,840 Danish.

TV2 Norge has approached Tesla's Norwegian department to inquire about the absurd price difference. But the car brand has not returned.

Incidentally, it is not the first time that a bill from Tesla has ended up in the upper air layers. A Model S owner received a bill of DKK 145,000,

He subsequently advised other Tesla owners to do something quite special but quite simple. Namely, saving what they save on petrol or diesel for workshop bills. Read more here .
