Recalling 127 cars because of one sticker

The American car brand Rivian has just recalled 127 cars because they were not fitted with stickers from the factory.

A missing sticker is reason enough for Rivian to now recall cars.

Conversely, the sticker, which was mistakenly not fitted from the factory, is missing from 127 cars. The sticker, which is missing, informs about the danger of the airbag.

Without this, there is a greater risk that the owners are not well enough informed about the risk of incorrect placement of children in the car. Children sitting in car seats facing the opposite direction of traffic are particularly vulnerable.

And for that reason, the sticker must be there. Rivian therefore cannot avoid recalling the 127 cars, which include both the SUV R1S and the pickup R1T.

The car brand itself says that for a period from 19 February to 8 March this year, it is not certain that all cars were equipped with the sticker. Therefore, the cars now have to take a trip past a workshop.

The recall is in the minors department. In fact, it approaches the point of indifference. However, it doesn't have to be that way. Much greater seriousness can hide behind this kind of thing.

For example, in December last year, Honda had to recall so many cars that it was feared that there would be a shortage of spare parts. Specifically, it concerns 2.6 million fuel pumps that may be defective from the factory.

And at Audi in the USA, they had to recall 100,000 electric cars at about the same time, because the owners are apparently stupid enough to charge them from plugs that are in no way suitable for this kind of thing. Read more about it here .

Back at Rivian, it is clear that, after several delays, the brand is getting ready for a launch in Europe with a new and cheaper SUV. Contrary to previous rumours, Denmark is not immediately on the list of countries with future dealers.
