New Fiat 500 costs DKK 1 million without tax

Okay, this is no ordinary Fiat 500, but rather a pumped up version of an already hot Abarth.

You take a Fiat 500. Forget everything you think you know about the model. Then you have an Abarth 595/695. If you forget one more time, you have a Giannini Spettacolo.

Italian tuner Giannini Automobili was founded in 1917 and tuned Fiat models for racing until sometime in the mid-1980s.

Now the tuner is making a comeback, even at Pininfarina's former factory in Turin. But from here it also starts to rain strongly. It's probably best you sit down now.

For the car, which is a joint venture between the companies Impero in Rome and Gruppo Maestri from Turin, only 200 copies of the hot Fiat 500 will be built. In return, they will have a whopping 133,000 euros per car.

In Danish currency, this corresponds to DKK 992,000, and because you have had the car shipped to Denmark and equipped with a set of number plates, you can safely expect to have spent on the scary side of DKK 1 million.

Conversely, you can get a Giannini Spettacolo any way you want it. Well, almost. In any case, there is a configurator on the car's official website, where you can just go crazy with colors and finishes.

Then there is the engine. Similar to the Abarth 595/695, we are dealing with a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine. But where the Abarth stops at 200 horsepower and 300 Nm, the little Spettacolo continues to 250 horsepower and 360 Nm.

This means a 0-100 km/h time of 5.5 seconds and a car that does not stop pulling, because an electronic limitation prevents it from getting past 280 km/h on the speedometer.

If it's money you're happy to spend, or if it's just generally lost on you, then we also have another suggestion. And that even includes Danish tax.

Toyota in Denmark wants almost DKK 800,000 for a car with just 3 cylinders. Read all about how it all works here .
