In several places in Denmark, the so-called taxi law is now being repealed, the Ministry of Transport states in a press release.
It will be a little easier to hail a taxi in Denmark. At least in some parts of the country. In several places, the so-called taxi law has been repealed.
This is stated by the Ministry of Transport in a press release this week.
The repeal of the law means that it will be legal for all drivers to take passengers for a fee. Exactly like the taxis do it today.
Initially, the Funen o BÃ¥go as well as Endelave, Hjarno and Oro are exempt from taxi legislation in Denmark.

– We are talking about areas where it is not possible to get a taxi.
– With the o-taxi scheme, we ensure maximum mobility by liberalizing the area so that everyone can share with everyone – without requirements for a driver's license, seat cushions and taxi meters, says Transport Minister Thomas Danielsen (V).
Since the turn of the year, it has otherwise been possible for municipalities smaller than Bornholm to apply for an exemption from the taxi act.
Rental cars in Denmark may not be the only ones to be subject to new regulations. In any case, the industry organization Dansk Industri is proposing adjustments to the law against reckless driving.
– There is a need to do something different, when in several cases you can wipe the bill and the punishment off on others.
– We believe that it must be the driver of the car and not the owner who pays for the car's value in the form of a fine if the law is to have the necessary effect, says Karsten Lauritzen, branch director of DI Transport, in a press release.
And there are indications that the government is obedient. In any case, Minister of Justice Peter Hummelgaard suggests that the parties must now come to terms. However, the government has already announced that the law may be tightened. Read more about it here .
