The Renault dealer Claus Lützhoft was unjustly thrown into prison after he had 15 cars stolen. Now he sees no other way out than to sell his garage.
Claus Lützhoft was imprisoned for five months because the Southeast Jutland Police believed that he himself had arranged the theft of 15 cars from his business in Grindsted.
The police ended up not being able to prove anything. Nevertheless, the remand ended up costing Claus Lützhoft bankruptcy and – he estimates himself – as much as DKK 40 million.
Now the otherwise modern garage has just been sold for DKK 12.5 million to a local property company. That's what Jutland Vestkysten writes.
Claus Lützhoft tells the newspaper that he did not cheat, he had no other choice. In fact, he believes that this is a pure gift price. The garage is also too large for the car dealer's current business.

The car dealer took part in the DR program 'The Suspects', which was broadcast in January this year. Here, Claus Lützhoft talked about the consequences – also health-related – that imprisonment had for him.
The car dealer was later compensated for the unjustified imprisonment. But because he had debts to the public sector after the bankruptcy, he ended up not seeing as much as one krone of the amount.
Claus Lützhoft is far from the only car dealer who is having a hard time at home. Several brand dealers have either been terminated or have thrown out the brands of their own choosing.
That carnage has, among other things, meant that several of the big car brands are no longer present in an entire part of the country. Read more about it here .
