Huge gas station goes bankrupt: "The last tank is built here"

The director believes that the last gas station in Sweden has been built. Now he can see his business going bankrupt and being turned into a charging station.

The last gas station has already been built in Sweden.

At least if you ask the director of the local association OK in the Swedish town of Hagfors, where a Q8 tank has just gone bankrupt.

Erik Helgesson has been running the place for almost four years, and during that time he has struggled to get everything running. Let alone business related. And now it's over.

– People have no money anymore. There has been a pandemic, there is a war going on in the outside world and high interest rates. Then the buying trend goes down, and the result follows, says the director to Värmland's Folkblad .

Q8 association director Thomas Andersson believes, as he explains to the media, that the last gas station was built in Sweden.

The Q8 tank's bankruptcy comes after a paltry profit of SEK 178,000 last year. This corresponds to 117,000 Danish kroner. Instead, the tank is now being converted into a charging park for electric cars.

However, it is the exact opposite of the atmosphere here in Denmark. At least with someone. Back in March this year, it emerged that the gas station company Go On Gruppen is massively expanding in Denmark.

Among other things because each of the just 20 full-time employees earns DKK 3.6 million. kroner into the company on average.

There is also some indication that the gas stations do not need to be packed away at an excessively fast pace.

Several car brands have announced that they are pulling the handbrake on very ambitious targets for electric cars. Most recently, Ford has announced that it will not only sell electric cars in 2030 after all. Read more about this here .
