Heidi's new Volkswagen ID.3 takes 30 hours to charge

Heidi Torset thinks that 30 hours is an extremely long time. However, her new Volkswagen refuses to charge in other ways.

Heidi Torset is the frustrated owner of a new Volkswagen ID.3. The car refuses to charge in any other way than via a node program.

This means that it takes 30 hours to fully charge the battery. Heidi Torset tells Motor.no.

The Torset family only drives electric cars. But the ID.3 has given nothing but trouble since it was 4 months old. At least when it comes to charging.

The car simply refuses to charge in any other way than through a nod program. And then charging takes a very, very long time.

The family has documented the problem with several videos of the extremely slow charging. Something that also bothers the car when it is connected to a lightning charger outside the city.

It is well known that the ID.3 had a number of problems when it first hit the streets. Volkswagen simply sent the car out too quickly. Something the Danish importer has also been beaten up for in the consumer program 'Kontant' on DR.

The same DR has also uncovered how the importer sold a number of electric cars to himself in order to make the sales figures look better. A few days before New Year 2020, Volkswagen in Denmark sold a total of 272 cars to itself.

Back at the Torset family, both NAF, which is the Norwegian answer to FDM, and the car dealer can clearly see that there is something wrong with the electric car.

The dealer has therefore offered to buy the car back for NOK 230,000. But Heidi Torset will not accept that. She paid NOK 316,000 for the car. This corresponds to 204,000 Danish kroner.

Electric cars – although they should technically be more robust due to fewer moving parts – are not necessarily lucky. At Volvo, one must immediately apologize to customers who are affected by massive problems in new cars. Several of the drivers even get their money back. Read more about it here .
