He slept in the car to work overtime – now Tesla has fired him

A Tesla employee who slept in the car in order to work even more for the car brand is now one of the many who have been fired.

At the end of April, Tesla fired 10 percent of its employees worldwide. However, some had not received the message and had to be turned away by security guards. Read more about it here.

Others were fired even though they were willing to go to great lengths for Tesla. One of them is Nico Murillo, who until April 15 worked as a supervisor at the brand's factory in Fremont, California.

This is what the now fired employee writes on his LinkedIn profile .

He adds that he often slept in his car to be able to work over at the factory in Fremont.

Nico Murillo writes further that he opened the email with the dismissal notice at half past five in the morning. Five minutes later, he got a message from his boss that apparently everyone had gotten a similar message.

Still, Nico Murillo could at 05.50 not entering the Fremont factory with his access card. Soon after, a security guard took the card from him. The security guard said the firing was good enough.

– At 06.00 I sat in my car full of disbelief again, he writes.

In the same letter, however, he also admits to having read the fire notice while he left the car on autopilot. Something another man has just been convicted of doing in Sweden.

The police could not wake the man, although several persistent attempts were made to do so over a distance of 40 kilometers. Read more about it here .

Back in the US, Nico Murillo is far from the only Tesla employee who has been fired. Elon Musk has fired entire departments. No more than 500 men at once. Read more about it here .
