Feeling cheated by unfinished Volvo for 1 million kroner

Volvo has huge software problems, which even after the DKK 1 million top model was delayed for more than a year, continue.

Despite a delay of more than a year, Volvo's top model EX90 is still not a finished product.

The Swedish company Allt om Elbil can now reveal this. The press manager for the car brand in Sweden says that this is due to the brand's need for 'more time'.

– We need a little extra time to develop and implement functions that are missing or delayed, says Magnus Holst, PR manager for Volvo Cars Sweden.

The press manager's announcement means that the cars that Volvo has finally started production of at the brand's factory in South Carolina will be and are full of defects.

As many as ten different functions will not be able to be used in the car, which on Danish number plates costs from just under 1 million kroner, once the tax has been paid.

One of the customers that Allt om Elbil has spoken to is both angry and feels disappointed by Volvo's ceilings, which the car brand still cannot live up to. However, another EX90 owner is just happy to finally have the car home. The person hopes that Volvo fixes the errors.

Among the functions that still do not work are a number of important safety systems that depend on the so-called Lidar sensor in the roof. This means, among other things, that the new Volvo cannot brake for cross traffic.

But even something significantly less vital like Apple CarPlay is not to be found in the new Volvos, as customers have been promised.

At Volvo, they apologize by saying that the EX90 is designed in such a way that it gets better over time. In addition, the car brand believes that the new top model is the safest car they have ever built.

Here are the 10 features that the Volvo EX90 does not yet have:
Apple CarPlay. Plan as OTA update in late 2024
Lidar's first safety scenario- comes in mid-2025
Cross-traffic alert – automatic braking – coming in mid-2025
Warning against cross traffic – coming in mid-2025
Curve speed assistant – coming in mid-2025
Connected security – coming mid-2025
Light theme in the center console and front display – coming from mid-2025
Battery consumption (automatic power saving mode) – coming from mid-202
Smart Charging – coming from the middle of 202
Two-way charging (so the car can also be used as a battery for electricity in the house, ed.) – coming from mid-2025
