Caroline's Teslas exploded – "I could be dead"

Caroline Torbjörnsen was on her way home when the undercarriage of her Tesla Model S threw a support arm. "I could be dead," she says.

It is well known that the suspension arms of the Tesla Model S have a weakness. They simply give up. Despite the problem, Tesla refuses to recall the cars in Europe.

For Caroline Torbjörnsen, however, it could have ended fatally, when she just experienced that a support arm left her Tesla Model S.

She tells this to the Swedish Carup .

Actually, Caroline Torbjörnsen should have taken the motorway, as she usually does, but since it was good for cows, she chose to drive along a smaller road at 50 km/h. And it turned out to be a wise decision.

Because when she approaches her home in the town of Sundsvall, there is suddenly a loud bang from the car, which starts to hum strangely.

– I was terrified. If I had taken the motorway, I could have been dead, says the Tesla owner to the media.

We managed to get the car to limp home. Here, Caroline Torbjörnsen realized that the rear support arm was broken in the middle. A known weakness on the Tesla Model S built for August 2017.

So well known, in fact, that 10,000 cars have been recalled in China for fear of faulty control arms. But in Europe, Tesla has not wanted to do anything, writes Carup.

Caroline Torbjörnsen thinks that it is terrible and that Tesla should recall all the cars immediately. She has also told the Swedish authorities about her experience.

Something that cannot sound completely foreign to them. The Swedish Transport Agency, which deals with such inquiries, has received similar inquiries from Swedish Tesla owners.

To the news agency Reuters, a Tesla employee in Norway tells that serious factory defects on the cars, which customers have been blamed for, have been so massive in number that it has almost cost a bankruptcy. Read more about it here .
