Brand new parts for old cars are big business for a large number of car brands. Also at BMW in Munich.
Brand new parts for old cars are big business in the automotive industry. At Nissan, for example, you can get everything from brand new parts to older models to complete factory restorations.
And at BMW, the classic department, BMW Classic, has brand new parts for several old models in stock. Furthermore, the parts are still being produced.
A look at the department's website reveals this.
Here, there are parts for everything from the iconic E9 coupe, through something more common like the E36 generation of the 3 Series, to the M1 supercar — BMW's only one of its kind to date.

According to Marc Thiesbürger, spokesman for BMW Group Classic, the way it works is that some parts are constantly kept in stock, while other parts are made when there are enough orders.
According to Motor1, Marc Thiesbürger can reveal that what owners of classic BMWs buy the most are oil filters and spark plugs, which is basically not that surprising.
But the classic department actually also has parts that were produced when the various historical models were still in production.
The parts go all the way back to the 1960s 02 series. But it's a bit of detective work to find them. What BMW has in terms of classic parts depends entirely on where in the world the owners are located.

But if you need parts for classic cars, it still takes place through the official BMW dealers or with so-called certified BMW Classic partners.
Most whores live in Europe. But it is actually also possible to get hold of historic BMW parts as far away from Denmark as in Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia.
