The development again points in the direction of Danish electric car owners having to share the same charging stations in public spaces. The rollout must be accelerated, warns De Danske Bilimportorer.
If De Danske Bilimportorere's director Mads Rorvig has it his way, it is no longer enough to entice Danes to switch to electric cars. Drivers must be increasingly forced to drive electric cars.
But it also requires that the network of public land stands throughout Denmark can keep up with the number of electric cars. And it doesn't look like that for the time being.
This is what De Danske Bilimportorer writes in a press release .
Because even though more public charging points have been set up in Denmark, things have slowed significantly in the past few months. And it could end up being a serious headache for people in electric cars.

– The installation of charging stands does not happen as quickly as it has done in the past.
– And that is a problem, because the share of electric cars in the car fleet is only getting bigger. Electric car sales are not going to slow down, so neither must the installation of charging stations, says Mads Rorvig.
At the end of March, there were 19,191 public charging points in Denmark. And although it is an increase of 73 percent compared to March 2023, it still cannot keep up with the number of new electric cars.
The number of electric cars in Denmark has increased by as much as 77 percent over the past 12 months. And this means that several electric cars must share the same charging point.
– Development is going the wrong way when several electric cars have to share each charging point. The demand for electric cars is increasing.
– And the new political agreement on zero-emission zones is going to push development further. This places great demands on the available charging infrastructure, which must be rolled out faster than is currently the case, says Mads Rorvig.
