Volvo drops several names for certain cars

The Chinese brand Volvo has got a model program which is now so confusing that even the bosses can see it. Therefore, the consequence is now taken.

Chinese-Swedish Volvo is now weeding out the model range. However, it is not because some cars smoke. But it will still be easier for customers to keep track of.

For Volvo is now completely dropping the 'Recharge' designation for its hybrid and all-electric models. From now on, for example, it will just be the XC40 and C40 for the hybrid and electric versions of the same car, respectively.

This is stated by the Swedish brand in a press release .

Volvo is also dropping the T designation. It has until now been found on cars with a combustion engine in an attempt to help customers find out whether they had spent money on the full-size model or a more modest version.

But the T designation is no longer needed by the brand. Instead, the Chinese-Swedes are adamant that they will only build electric cars by 2030 at the latest.

Volvo are not the only ones who have recently had an internal numerologist to clean up the model range. Mercedes already said last year that it wanted to get rid of certain model names. Read more about it here .
