Recalling over 28,000 cars because the engine can burn up

The same oil leak that has plagued a number of Kia models is now also found in sister brand Genesis.

Recently, it emerged that Genesis is reversing its plans to build only electric cars. The brand also has plenty to concentrate on with the current internal combustion engines.

Because it turns out that you are plagued by the same problem that sister brand Kia has with its 3.3-liter V6 engine,

Specifically, Genesis is recalling 28,439 cars because an oil leak can cause the engine to burn up.

And while Kia seems to have the same problem, the Genesis recall sheds a little more light on what's really wrong.

The South Korean brand says it is crazy about the material that a number of oil hoses are made of. Especially in the colder months, when the hoses are exposed to constantly fluctuating temperatures, the fault can appear in the form of split hoses.

Kia/Genesis has so far received 81 complaints about the problem. However, the car brand is not aware that some engines have yet burned up, or that some people have been injured as a result of the error.

Conversely, Kia knows of at least one case where a fire has occurred in the engine compartment of a Stinger with the 3.3-liter V6 engine.

The possibly burning V6 engines are just the latest in a long line of problems for Kia. The South Korean brand is fighting, among other things, with electric cars that decompose themselves and parts that fly off the roof. Read more about it here .

In our latitudes, there are also problems for the Kia group. A Boosted review reveals that Danish electric cars may be among the cars that currently have serious problems with the handbrake.

Kia has actually tried to fix the fault on the cars. Namely, all the way back in 2020. But then they didn't do it well enough.

In Germany alone, Kia must therefore recall a good 12,000 copies of the electric car e-Soul.Read more about it here .
