Now the price of petrol is falling for the first time in a long time

After a very long period of very high increases and a record level last week, fuel prices are coming down again.

After hitting a level that has not actually been seen higher in the last year and a half, the price of petrol and diesel is again on the way down.

This is written by TV2 Fyn .

In the course of the last few days, the price of petrol has fallen by 20 ore per litre. However, the price is still very high.

Since New Year, when the government imposed additional taxes on fuel due to a 15-year-old tax agreement, the price per liter has increased by over one krone.

And although the price has now started to fall slightly, Danish motorists in particular should not count on the trees growing into the sky, i.e. in the form of cheap petrol and diesel.

Especially the latter, the government is already tightening the tax screw again on 1 January 2025. The EU will do the same when a quota system for all fossil fuels is introduced in 2027.

Something that is expected to take a heavy toll on motorists' finances. The EU politicians want to tighten the union's climate targets towards 2040. The Danish government has already estimated that this scheme alone will make a liter of petrol DKK 1.09 more expensive in 2030.

In other words, on top of the taxes that the Danish government imposes on motorists along the way. And, as it looks now, they will only increase towards 2030. Also on other than fuel. Read more about it here .
