Now Lamborghini is also planning – the electric car might not be a good idea

Lamborghini will probably send an electric car to the street, but it won't be until 2028, and it's not a supercar. Such a person does not make sense, says the boss.

Rimac will probably never build an electric hypercar again. And Lamborghini may never send an electric Revuelto or Huracan to the streets.

And why not? There is simply no business in it, at least not if you ask Lamborghini's chief executive Stephan Winkelmann.

In an interview with Automotive News, Winkelmann won't write off the idea of an electric supercar, but he's also not sure that kind of car will ever be a hit.

– It is too early (to say anything about, ed.) and we need to look at the time, says Stephan Winkelmann.

Instead, Winkelmann and the rest of the people in Sant'Agata, where Lamborghini's factory is located, speak for the use and development of synthetic fuels. Something i.a. the sister brand Porsche is going strong in Chile.

As early as autumn 2023, it emerged that Lamborghini will also develop synthetic fuel. Read more about it here. And they are not the only ones.

A brand like Bugatti, which now belongs to Croatian Rimac in collaboration with Volkswagen, also continues with the internal combustion engine.

The latest to emerge, and the brand's newest car, is news about the speedometer. And it's actually much more interesting than it sounds. Read more here .

On the other hand, not everyone has written off the electric car as a possibility in advance. Ferrari is still working on the launch of an electric car, and that as early as next year, although the Italians are simultaneously working on a 'reversed' V6 engine that burns hydrogen.

However, the fact that Lamborghini leads when it comes to electric cars does not mean that Winkelmann and Co. has written off the car type. It just gets a different design and only in several years.

The brand's first offer of a pure electric car, the Lanzador, is a high-legged cousin in the style of the Urus SUV, and it will not be available to customers until 2028 at the earliest.

Already from 2027, however, it may become very difficult for the car brands present in Europe to convince motorists that they should buy a car with a combustion engine. Here, the taxes on fuel are rising a lot and violently due to new EU rules.Read more about it here .
