Swedes drive around on Europe's second-cheapest gasoline. In fact, gasoline is so cheap in Sweden that a liter of milk costs more.
In Sweden, you can't get a gallon of milk for the same price as a liter of gasoline. The Swedish krone, which has become stronger against the dollar, is driving down the price.

The price of gasoline is also falling here in Denmark. The explanation can be attributed to roughly the same factors.
In fact, the price of gasoline in Denmark is at its lowest since the turn of the year, when rising taxes caused the price to rise dramatically. But the price here is nothing more than a mockery when you can look across the other side of the Øresund.
While Danes can currently fill up their tanks for just under 14 kroner, the same liter of gasoline can be had for 9.99 kroner. In comparison, Swedes have to pay 11.5 kroner for a liter of milk.
Gasoline could become much cheaper in Sweden
– In the store I charge 17 kroner for a liter of milk, so now it is significantly cheaper, says Kenneth Brunsmo, who sells Sweden's cheapest gasoline from his gas station in Fridlvestad.
Kenneth Brunsmo himself points out that the Swedish government's election promises to lower petrol and diesel prices to the EU's absolute minimum level have triggered a price war. However, he will not say why he has lowered the price so much.
Jan Erik Mellström, who runs another gas station, does not believe that the price war is over. On the contrary, the Swedish krona, although low, will eat into the dollar even more.
And because gasoline and diesel are made from crude oil, this will mean even cheaper fuel for drivers. However, some Swedes are also sounding the alarm.
It is especially industry professionals and analysts who fear that the quota rules for fuel could now push the price in the other direction. Namely, skyrocketing. Read more about it here .
